Plus, A.D always has wonderful writers that publish on Third Sunday. So you’re definitely in for a treat. What better way to spend a Sunday than read some good bloggers!!

I am asking for your time and votes

Hello All, now you know I participated in a writeupcafe.com contest with this blog post a few days ago. 30% weightage is being given to votes garnered by the submission.

Most anybody who reads me knows I just put my posts on indiblogger and writeup and then forget about them. I do not vote for other writers’ posts – partly due to laziness and partly because I believe, if my post is good, people will read and vote regardless of whether I vote for them or not. Hardly have any of my posts received many votes but I am true to my philosophy that I will not scratch your back in the hopes that you will scratch mine.

What I’m trying to say is my contest entry is languishing in the votes department. So I’m going to request all of you to take a few precious moments to vote for me – only, I repeat, only if you find it worthwhile.

Now, please don’t think I’m going to start voting on the aforementioned sites for your posts because you voted for mine. (If that’s your thinking please do not vote for my contest entry). I am a faithful follower of some really good writers, I vote for them, I comment on their blogs. If I discover your blog and love it, you’ll be hard-pressed to get rid of me.

I know I have way too many conditions and I may sound like an arrogant ass instead of a humble  blogger asking for votes. But, hey, at least I’m not asking you to do it on false pretenses. So after all this if you choose to vote, please use the following screenshots to do so.

I’d like you all to meet

the youngest blogger I know. Mayukha is a very precocious 10 year old who wants to be an author when she grows up. Well, she already has some of the qualities that all good authors do. She reads – A LOT. She writes – A LOT, for someone with school, music, dance, violin, tennis, basketball and a myriad other activities to do. She tries to better herself with every blog post she puts out and she’s doing a fantastic job.

She looks for constructive criticism and takes it in the right spirit. I have known Mayukha for the last 4 years and every time I meet her, I come away impressed. I’d recommend you all check her site out. My favorite blog posts include Stage Fright and Cancer and Nathalie, although I am a fan of her poetry as well.

Here’s a writer that I believe deserves all our encouragement and she will definitely blossom under all the tutelage you can provide. Happy reading, folks!!

Also, feel free to submit your work to be included in the next blog carnival – March 18th. You can submit something you have already written or write something exclusively for the carnival. I would love to see some of your work there.

Happy writing and reading, folks!!

I am in love…

I am in love, oh so deeply, completely in love….Last night I spent over 5 hours in the company of my beloved and they were the best 5 hours of my life.

Those of you who think that I am talking about DH, think again. The DH has never made me feel so happy or content or completely blissful. Today my house literally looks shinier and brighter as a result of this new love of mine.

Ahhh, all those times that I scoffed at the wonderful things said about love, I take all those back……I now realize, the world is indeed a beautiful place when you’re in love. The days look brighter, there is new excitement in the air. I cannot tell you how much I have started to look forward to more and more time spent in the company of my beloved.

Does DH know about this, you ask. Of course he does because my state of  mind cannot be hidden from him. He’s never seen me smiling so much. What does he think of this love? He’s given us his blessing.

In fact we’re all going to live together, happily ever after. Now, would you like to see a picture of this new love of mine?

Here it is…. go on, go, feast your eyes.

All those who are not cleaning maniacs can drop off at this point. For the rest of this post, I am going to wax eloquent about how great this product is.

Yes, I used this wonderful product last night to clean my kitchen shelves. We have lived in this house a long time and all my cooking and Diwali mithaai making and partying has led to a lot of greasy crud accumulating on the cabinets above my stove. and the refrigerator etc. The microwave vent was a greasy, sticky mess too. Usually, twice a year, I put in a lot of effort and scrub down all my shelves. The process generally involves 3 packages of Scotch Brite (36 pieces of Scotch Brite in all), lots of warm, soapy water and endless towels. But I have never gotten my shelves clean enough. The sticky feeling has stayed on despite 4-6 hours of scrubbing. The only good that came out of all this was I have well-developed biceps :)

So, yesterday, I was planning to follow the above-mentioned process when it occurred to me to check the world wide web to see if there was anything that could get me better results. I found a forum full of people praising Krud Kutter, so I promptly ran to the store and  bought one. After 5 hours of using it on all kitchen cabinets, microwave and stove vents, walls and the carpet too, my house does look shinier and brighter.

I did spend all of last night grinning like an idiot and I can’t wait to try this on some other tough spots in my house. And yes, DH gives me his blessing because jewellery hasn’t made me as happy as this $6 bottle of Krud Kutter has. He now knows what he’s getting me for every birthday and anniversary.

So there’s my love story, people. I know with this, I have completely destroyed my image of being a suave, sophisticated woman, but doesn’t love strip you of all your worldly pretensions? So there, I’m in love and that’s all I have to say about it.
